Named for the 14 parishes of Jamaica, 14 Parishes brings the flavors and spirit of the island to New Orleans. Our menu is rooted in Jamaican classics like jerk chicken, beef patties, oxtails and traditional sides, served with the warmth and flavor that have defined us since we started with $10 supper plates in 2015. More than a restaurant, 14 Parishes is a celebration of Jamaican food, culture and community.

THE DUO BEHIND 14 PARISHES

Executive Chef Charles Blake was born and raised in Spanish Town, Jamaica, where his love for cooking began early — learning by watching his mother in the kitchen. At 14, he landed his first job at Jewels Restaurant & Resort in Portmore. After moving to New York in 1994, Charles spent years honing his craft in restaurants across Brooklyn and later co-owned Island Breeze with a Touch of Soul in Atlanta.

In 2014, he and his partner, Creative Director Lauren Johnson, moved to her hometown of New Orleans. The two began selling $10 supper plates from Lauren’s mother’s house in 2015 — and by 2016, they opened their first 14 Parishes restaurant in Central City.

Over the next decade, 14 Parishes grew across New Orleans, with locations downtown, on Oak Street and in Algiers Point, followed by the launch of the Likkle 14 food truck in 2025. Today, the brand continues to evolve while staying rooted in the Jamaican flavors, culture and community that started it all.

Built with love, hustle and flavor, 14 Parishes is a tribute to Jamaica, New Orleans and the power of starting small.
