14 PARISHES
JAMAICAN RESTAURANT
Named for the 14 parishes of Jamaica, we are a family-run joint that dishes up homeland classics like beef patties and jerk chicken paired with sides like sweet plantains and cornbread. Our casual space features colorful artwork and reclaimed wood tables that create a laid-back, rustic vibe.

THE DUO BEHIND 14 PARISHES
Executive Chef Charles Blake was born and raised in Spanish Town, Jamaica, where his love for cooking began early — learning by watching his mother in the kitchen. At 14, he landed his first job at Jewels Restaurant & Resort in Portmore. After moving to New York in 1994, Charles spent years honing his craft in restaurants across Brooklyn and later co-owned Island Breeze with a Touch of Soul in Atlanta.
In 2014, he and partner, Creative Director Lauren, moved to her hometown of New Orleans. The two began selling $10 supper plates from Lauren’s mother’s house — and by 2016, they opened their first restaurant in Central City. Since then, the 14 Parishes brand has grown to locations on Oak Street (2021) and Algiers Point (2023), along with Likkle 14 food truck launched in 2025.
Rooted in Jamaican tradition and built with love, hustle, and flavor, 14 Parishes is a tribute to culture, community, and the power of starting small.
